Social Events!

Yeah, I think this may be my second post here.
Title explains everything.

Here in the server, everyone is split up.
People who encounter other people may occasionally help (or kill) them.
But the chance of encounters are rare, and if you don't have an alliance or a faction, meeting others is unlikely.

This proposal is for people to have a social event once every (week? month?) so that people can meet each other etc. It maybe a feast, mining party, contest, whatever.

Anyone with me?

P.S. My new house is nearly complete. I'll be hosting a housewarming party when it's done. Yay! Details about it will be posted later.

That would be a great idea! We could have a building which cannot be greifed by anyone and everybody could meet up there.

However, keep in mind that not everyone will go.

And dont forget timezones

Sub-suggestion: What if this server has it's own time zone?

The server is located in the East Coast, United States, but others from other timezones connect to the server.

Are you saying the server should have its own time? We already have Minecraft Time.

Even if that happens, people could be sleeping as we party in a "social event."

Maybe it should last for 2 days?

Well it's your decision. Even if it lasts for two days, people in extremely different timezones might not meet.

If we adjust the times so that people in one side of the world will experience early evening, and another side experiences morning?
